This Hotspot is known as the St. Mary’s Rapids and is located directly adjacent to the city of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We chose this Hotspot because of its easy access to a variety of fish species.
You can hire a local guide to get you there, or you can drop your boat in just downriver in a very well-maintained boat launch. Those without a boat can also access these rapids with waders.
If you do run a boat, use your depth finder to keep yourself aware of the rocks and boulders that could do you and your boat harm as you venture upstream. Five feet or less could spell trouble!
We ran our rig upriver into the rapids, then cast out a variety of baits while drifting back down with the current.
When wading, cast out and upstream, letting your presentation drift down naturally.
Baits: Live Bait, Spinners, Roe, Beads
Presentation: Drifting
Water depth: 4-20 feet

You will love it! If you need a guide up there, look up Tyler Dunn or Adam Vallee.
LOOKS NICE
Looks great! I will definitely check it out next time I am in the Sault.
A must!
I ONLY FISH THE ST-LAWRENCE OR LAKE ST-FRANCIS
The hot spot looks to be on the Michigan side of the river. Are there any restrictions to where you can fish along the boarder or is it flexible.
